What is warm outreach?
Last updated
Warm outreach means contacting someone who already has some reason to recognise you, such as a profile view, a like on your post, a shared group or a mutual connection. Cold outreach has none of these.
Why warm usually works better
A warm contact has a reason to say yes. Acceptance and reply rates are typically higher, and you can open with the shared context instead of an introduction.
Warm sources on LinkedIn
- People who viewed your profile
- Followers of you or your company page
- People who engaged with a post on your topic
- People in the same group or event
- Second-degree connections through someone you know
In Spurly, you can turn profile viewers and followers into an audience from the lead finder.
How to write to a warm contact
Mention the shared context in the first sentence and keep the ask small. For cold messages, see LinkedIn cold message structure.
